The Gridder
Easy, quick, and perfectly straight plantings every time. This helps ensure even growth and faster cultivation.
The Gridder is a rolling dibbler used to lay out a grid for your plantings. It can also make straight lines before direct seeding or using a Paperpot transplanter.
Essential Tool
Gridder Spool Spacing
Below is an example of a two-row spool layout on a 30" bed.
Plants Are 15" Apart
Plants Have 15" of Space
Even, straight plantings are more productive and easier to cultivate.
The Gridder creates straight, evenly spaced plantings. Each spool corresponds to the number of rows you intend to mark or plant, dividing the bed evenly by that number of rows. For example, a two-row spool on a 30" bed creates two rows spaced 15" apart. For even plantings, the in-row spacing and row spacing are the same.
Three rows on a 30" bed: 30 ÷ 3 = 10", so the rows are spaced 10" apart.
Four rows on a 30" bed: 30 ÷ 4 = 7.5", so the rows are spaced 7.5" apart.
Roller Crimper
Dibble Spikes
No tools required. No bolts or screws. These stainless steel dibbles are great for plastic mulch and hard soils.
Standardization
Post your own planting chart to clearly communicate your standard planting distances.
