A Vertigo™ Drop Seeder needs both a bottom plate and a top plate. The top plate captures the seeds and comes in many combinations of tray type, cell number, plate thickness, and seed hole size.
The Vertigo™ Top Plate is not a cheap sheet of Acrylic like every other seeder on the market. These are carefully designed pieces specially made for the Vertigo™ seeder. They are made here in Cookeville TN and then annealed in our shop to be perfectly flat and resist breakage.
We laser cut every plate to your custom specifications.
Custom plates can be made for any tray with a maximum dimension of 24” x 12”. Pick "Custom" and then email us for instructions after your purchase.

Vertigo™ Top Plate Sizes
It is always best to measure your seeds as sizes can vary widely from different suppliers and batches.
To singulate seed, you want to match the seed hole to loosely the size of a single seed. You want the hole to only fit one seed with a little wiggle room.
The seed hole size has two dimensions 1) the plate thickness or height and 2) the seed hole diamter.
For multiple seeds, you can figure out volume of the seed hole using this formula - volume = π r² h
