Standard Features

Polycarbonate Doors

Shatterproof doors are built to withstand the rigors of the farm. They are ultra-clear and full-length so you can easily monitor your starts. Some seeds also need light to germinate. The cabinet has double doors on both sides.

Magnetic Closure

No pesky clasps or latches to deal with. Doors open and close easily and are held in place by rare earth magnets.

Adjustable Top Vent

The screened top vent can be adjusted to increase or reduce the amount of moisture in the chamber. Screen is stainless steel.

Full-Length Stainless Hinge

The hinge extends from the top of the chamber to the bottom. These doors are opened and closed many times a day throughout the season, so they are built for repeated use.

Expanded Shelves

The stainless-steel expanded shelves will not droop or rust. The open design allows steam to circulate evenly throughout the chamber. Shelves are easily removed for taller plants, such as during tomato graft healing.

Stainless Reservoir

The large water tank allows multiple days of steam without the autofill engaged, which is useful for farms with limited water. It is fitted with a low-water-level shutoff to protect the heating element.

Large Casters

Fitted standard with large 8" rubber locking castors. One can easily move the unit when needed.

GFCI Plug

Comes standard with a heavy-duty cord and GFCI plug.

Digital Thermostat

A professional precision digital thermostat controls heating and cooling, all contained in a waterproof housing.

100% Germination Rate

All viable seed will germinate under correct conditions inside the chamber

Perfect Combination

Winstrip Trays

The open cell design is perfect for germination chambers as it allows even distribution of steam around the chamber.

Chamber Tips

Advice on Best Practices

1

Dibble and Seed

Dibble all trays before seeding. Either use your finger or a dibble board. This will center your seeds in the cell and provide a good environment for germination.

2

No Covering Seeds

Leave seeds uncovered so you can easily monitor germination. Covering seeds is unnecessary in the chamber.

3

Soak Tray

Thoroughly water the tray before putting into the chamber. Tray will not need watering again until it is removed.

4

Temperature

An ideal temperature for most vegetable and flower seeds is 75–78°F. The thermostat is preset by us, so there is no need to change it.

5

Take Out

Remove tray when 50% or more seeds are visibly germinated. This is to prevent legginess if left in the chamber too long. Check your chamber daily.

Problems with Heat Mats

Heating mats or heated tables dry out the soil which will kill the seed unless you constantly water. This is not only extra work, but watering will cool down the seed and delay and reduce the germination rate.

Great Option

Shade Curtains

To maintain moisture in the chamber and steady temperatures, direct sunlight into the chamber should be avoided. The sun will heat up the chamber. Curtains help to eliminate that issue. They are also great for some flower seeds that require darkness to germinate.

3/8" stainless steel rod and aluminum clips. The cloth is 55% shading which can be bunched for greater blocking. Easy open and close.

Cool Crops

Spinach and Lettuce

These cool-temperature crops germinate well at 75°F, which is the recommended chamber setting for most vegetables and flowers.

Germination rates can decline when the temperature exceeds 75°F.

We recommend the optional fans and shade cloth to maintain a consistent temperature in late spring and summer.

Thermostat

Best in Class

A standard feature is the RANCO Two Stage Digital Thermostat in a NEMA 4 enclosure. It provides precise temperature control with an adjustable differential as small as 1°F.

Thermostat operating range: -20°F to 140°F.

For best temperature control, the optional curtains and automatic fans are recommended.

Normal chamber operating temperatures can range from the shaded room temperature to over 95°F.

An ideal setting for germinating most vegetable and flower seeds is 75–78°F.

Option

Automatic Fans

Fans pull in cooler air to help the temperature not rise on warmer days. This enables you to keep steam being produced and continue to achieve great germination with cool season crops

Fans are tied into the thermostat and will come on automatically.
