Germinate your seedlings fast and efficiently using this 288 seedling start kit. 

In general, this method is ideal for any seed that is extremely small, has poor germination, or would typically require the time-consuming task of pricking out.

288 trays use dramatically less space in your prop house and germination area. 

This kit includes the 288 dibbler / popper, and the popping frame. Also included is the seeding cover, to center seeds in each cell.

Two Winstrip marking pencils are part of the kit as well.

1) Broadcast Seed

A quick and easy method to start thousands of transplants.

🌱 Fill a Winstrip 288 tray, dibble it and cover with the Broadcast Seeding Cover

🌱🌱Broadcast your seed just like you would into an open tray. The seeding cover will center your seeds in the cells.

🌱🌱🌱Once you have first true leaves, pop out the starts with the Winstrip popping frame

🌱🌱🌱🌱 Pot-on the seedlings to a bigger tray or Winstrip xl 3” pots, either singular or groups.

Hard to Germinate Seeds

Broadcast by hand, essentially scattering seeds across the tray. Seed cover will center those seeds.

Perfect for the Broadcast and Pop Method

Flowers:

  • Hard to Germinate flower seeds (such as bells of ireland, columbine, erigeron )
  • Seeds that take a long time to germinate (such as celosia, aster, delphinium, eucalyptus)
  • Pelleted flower seeds ( such as campanula, foxglove, lisianthus)
  • Small flower seeds to (such as snapdragons, poppies, foxglove)
  • Seeds that need to be germinated in large quantities, or when the space is limited in the germination chamber / on germination pad

Vegetables:

  • Seeds that need to be germinated in large quantities, or when the space is limited in the germination chamber / on germination pad (such as brassicas: kale, chard, cabbage, brussels sprouts) to be potted on into larger trays.
  • Seeds that take a long time to germinate (such as parsley, perennial herbs, celery)
