Pairs well with

This is the ultimate broad fork.

The Neversink Professional broad fork was designed by farmers and is simply the best one produced.

It has a Lifetime Guarantee.*

The Neversink Broad Fork is a premium handmade tool. Tines are Laser Sharpened and Forged Hardened. The tines will not bend or break and are guaranteed for a lifetime of use. These round and large tines, as opposed to thin blades, provide greater aeration which is the primary goal of broadforking. It has Comfortable Wood handles with anti-spring couplers to avoid wasted energy. It is Handmade in TN with local ash wood handles.

The Neversink Broadfork is built to last a lifetime, while it is light and easy to use.

Included is a bottle of our 100% natural tung oil which will help protect your wood handle while out in the elements.

Tines from bottom of bar to tip are 10.75”. They are 6” apart on center. Broadfork is 26.5” wide.

Your Choice:

All Wood version is a light 15.7 lbs. and perfect for regular aeration of already prepared growing beds. Wood would not be the best choice for removing rocks, very compacted ground or for virgin soil. While ash wood has the highest breaking strength, a wood handle can break largely because you have a significant amount of leverage with a two-handle broad fork and the forged tines will not bend.

Bottom Steel version is heavier at 20.5 lbs. but you will not break the steel handle. Steel is a good choice for rocky or hard compacted ground.

The GOAT

Simply the Best Broad Fork Made

Blades

Cheap and Inappropriate

Why are flat blades so common on Broad Forks?

That is Simple. They are the cheapest way to create a tine that resists bending.

However, flat blades are the wrong choice for this tool.

  • Blades slice soil rather than aerate.
  • Blades slice soil rather than plow
  • Blades slice root crops rather then help harvest them.

The GOAT has forged, hardened, and laser sharpened large round tines which are perfect for easy soil penetration while aerating the soil. We do not cut corners by using cheap flat blade tines. Our forged round tines are costly and labor intensive but guaranteed to never bend. They are also razor sharp.

Hand Forged

The Perfect Tines

Flat blade tines may be inexpensive to produce, but they are not suitable for Broad Forks.

In contrast, all of our forks have large, round tines that are hand-forged and hardened. Then they are precision laser sharpened and hand honed.

This produces a sharp round tine which works in any soil, aerate wonderfully, plows, and will never bend.

Solid tool

If this doesn't last my whole life, I'll be shocked. A very well built root fork I'm excited to use this fall.

Exceptional Quality and Usefulness

Seeing a picture and holding the actual tool in one's hands are two entirely different experiences. "The Billy GOAT broad fork is sturdy" doesn't even begin to describe the durability of this tool. In my mind I was expecting a beefed up typical digging fork. Wrong!

The tines are a bit larger than concrete re-bar sized diameter (obviously not re-bar). The length of the tines is plenty for loosening the soil for vegetables and perennial plantings.

The heft of the square steel tubing to which the tines are welded, again, surprised me. It is so strong. This tool is vastly superior to tools readily available at the local hardware or farm store. The welds are immaculate and well-formed.

The width of the broad fork is perfect for tight spaces and for smaller gardens where a larger broad fork is overkill.

The handle connection points at the fork end of and at the T-end are well made--none of that cheap-bent-in-a-tube steel typically found on garden tools. These tubes into which the handle is inserted are solid. I cannot fathom the amount of force that it would take to bend or break that steel.

The handle and T are ash wood, which is top of the line for tool handles because of its strength and flexibility. They are well shaped and sanded. With the proper maintenance, I expect to never need to replace them.

Assembly was intuitive. I had watched the assembly video prior to receiving the broad fork so I was primed and ready with handle oiling towel and cordless **** driver.

It is easy for me to handle, not too heavy but not too light. It gets the job done with surprising ease.

This entire experience was full of good surprises. I'm grateful to be able to use such an excellent tool. My soil thanks Neversink Tools.
